“The Girl from the Sea”, “The Fairy Oriana” and “The Bronze Boy” are three ravishing fairy tales written by the famous Portuguese writer and poet Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. They are three stories of friendship, trust and responsibility, of joy and happiness, longing and regret. The roaring sea, the beach and the rocks, the great forest and a beautiful old flower garden under the starry sky form the background for all the shrewd, fantastic and fabulous things unfolding in that enchanting world which can only be experienced by fairies, children, flowers and animals.

The book is illustrated by Signe Kjær’s wondrous, fascinating and colourful drawings, offering many hours of storytelling. Recommended as a book to be read aloud to children aged 5-6 and older.

This is the first time that these three wonderful fairy tales by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen have been translated to Danish. In Sophia’s home country Portugal, she and her stories are as loved as H.C. Andersen is in Denmark, and she is noted as one of the most important Portuguese 20th century authors.
